April 2, 2026           Calgary, Alberta             Canada Border Services Agency

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is the first line of defence to stop illegal drugs and contraband from entering Canada. On February 15, 2026, CBSA border services officers at Coutts port of entry in southern Alberta intercepted and seized 86.9 kg of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck.

CBSA officers examined a commercial truck carrying a load declared as produce destined for Calgary, Alberta. During the search of the truck's cab, officers found 70 bricks of suspected cocaine hidden inside three suitcases.

The driver of the truck was arrested by CBSA officers and, along with the suspected drugs, was transferred to the custody of the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region.

This seizure follows three separate seizures in November and December 2025, where officers at the Coutts port of entry seized a combined 1,010 kg of narcotics
