National Defence to hold public engagement session in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

April 9, 2026 - Yellowknife, Northwest Territories - National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

The Department of National Defence (DND) will host a public engagement session to share information and answer questions about infrastructure planned for North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Modernization and Continental Defence at the Forward Operating Location in Yellowknife.

Community members from Yellowknife and surrounding areas are invited to attend. DND representatives will provide an overview of the project, outline planned infrastructure, and respond to questions from community members.

When:  Thursday, April 23, 2026
               7:00 pm to 9:00 pm MDT

Where:  Explorer Hotel - Katimavik D
               4825 49th Avenue, Yellowknife, NT, 
                X1A 2R3

What: The session will begin with a presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period with community members. This venue is wheelchair accessible. On-site and street parking are available.
